Introduction to The Commodore PET 2001

Debuted in 1977 and equipped with the MOS Technologies 6502 microprocessor, the PET is a home computer whose applications are limited only by its user's needs. It can produce various graphs for managers, maintain appointment schedules and budget for the professional, and outperform even the best programmable calculators of its time at a comparable cost for the engineer.

The PET is a Personal Electronic Transactor. It uses a CRT for its screen, a keyboard as simple to use as a type-writer, a self-contained cassette recorder which is the source for programs and for storing data in connection with these programs. And it has, in its standard configuration, an 8K user memory (this is in addition to the 14K operating system resident in the computer).
