Introduction

This is a project that has been on hold since 2019. Cloud Chambers fascinate me and I have been dreaming of having one as a centerpiece in my apartment. 

I keep a close eye on liquidation sales, I have spotted some thermoelectric coolers before but lost the bid. Recently I came across an eBay listing for a TEC so I put in an offer that was eventually accepted. 

The excitement ends here and the project shall be revisited. The TEC was only able to reach -20C which is not cold enough for the alcohol vapor to condense around ion trails left behind by the ionizing particles. Even with a 2750V potential across the chamber and an acrylic enclosure, no tracks were seen :(
